What
is a New Member? – A New Member is a woman who has
recently pledged herself to Zeta Tau Alpha. She will undergo a six-
to ten-week Zeta Is Forever
New Member Program and complete other requirements before Initiation.
After her Initiation, the woman is referred to as a member of Zeta

the General Manual.
ZTA
Collegiate Chapters – Collegiate chapters are named
with Greek letter names in Greek alphabetical order. Thus, the first
chapter is Alpha, the second Beta, and so on. For administrative
purposes, the United States is divided into three Areas for collegians.
These are further divided into Provinces and guided by a Province
President. Usually, the divisions follow state lines. Generally,
Provinces coincide with Districts (alumnae divisions); however,
there are exceptions. Province Presidents are appointed to two-year
terms by National Council and receive training at the National Leadership
Conference and at International Convention.
