Zeta Tau Alpha and the ZTA Foundation took home four Award of Distinction honors during the North American Interfraternity Conference Foundation Seminar, Aug. 27-30, in Indianapolis, Ind.—more than any other Greek organization.

The Public Relations/Best Public Relations Effort was given to ZTA for the Foundation’s 10th Anniversary THINK-PINK!®celebration with the Washington Redskins. Last October, in order to recognize ZTA’s 10th year of involvement with the football team, over 200 ZTA volunteers distributed 42,000 pink ribbons to fans. Members of the Redskins family wore special ZTA Think Pink T-shirts, all stadium employees wore ZTA pink ribbons, and the Fraternity was honored on the stadium’s Jumbotron and on Redskins TV online.

ZTA’s 2008 Philanthropy Party video received the award for Donor Education/Relations- Best CD/DVD/Video. This video was shown at 80 percent of ZTA recruitments across the country and featured still and live video to give potential new members a glimpse of the Fraternity’s relationships with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Yoplait®, SELF magazine, the National Football League and numerous other breast cancer awareness and education partners.

ZTA’s involvement in the SELF Challenge garnered it the Best Campaign/Program in Support of an Outside Philanthropy category. To promote the Challenge, the ZTA Foundation  featured it on the ZTA Web site and through weekly e-mail blasts that included healthy lifestyle tips. ZTA also developed an official ZTA SELF Challenge Facebook page where members had the opportunity to share their experiences with the Challenge.

ZTA also took home the award for Best Use of a Foundation Grant for a Fraternity/Sorority Project or Program for its funding of My Sister, My Responsibility, a program that teaches and empowers chapter members to prevent and confront hazing and other destructive behaviors while reinforcing friendship and sisterhood.
